TikTok Music will cease its service starting November 28, one year after its launch

TikTok has announced that its streaming music service, TikTok Musicwill cease its service as of November 28 of this year, so that users will no longer have access to the platform’s musical content, as well as music downloads.

ByteDance, the company that owns TikTok, launched its TikTok Music service in July of last year as an option to access streaming music in sync with the main TikTok app.

In this way, users can listen to music and discover new artists through recommendations. It also allows users to create collaborative playlists, import other playlists and search for songs through their lyrics. All of this, with the intention of finding a community with similar tastes, as the Chinese technology company detailed at the time.

Initially, TikTok Music was launched in Brazil and Indonesia, now, almost a year later, and without having yet launched in Spain, the company has announced that TikTok Music will stop offering its services as of November 28 of this year, meaning users will no longer have access to musical content.

The platform has conveyed this through an informative message on its website, where it has also shared its gratitude for “all the support” from users. “We hope you have enjoyed the music,” it concluded.

After the date indicated, access to TikTok Music will no longer be available. Subscriptions and other functions will also no longer work, and the service will be paralyzed. However, users can transfer their playlists to avoid losing them before October 28. Likewise, personal data and TikTok Music account data will be deleted after the closure.
