In the Louis Vuitton Cup nothing has happened, between Ineos and Luna Rossa it is still 1-1

Nothing done. Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli and Ineos Britannia went over the time limit in the first and only regatta held today, what was supposed to be the third of the Louis Vuitton Cup final, staged in the waters off Barcelona.

The Italian AC75, with the banner of the Circolo della Vela Sicilia, went well, because the English boat, with team principal Ben Ainslie, was conducting the operations. At the helm of Luna Rossa today too, as always, the duo composed of the Sicilian Francesco Bruni and the Australian Jimmy Spithill. Max Sirena, skipper and team director, will direct the Italians from shore.

After about two hours of waiting, due to the weak wind, there was practically a draw at the start. Then, the English moved ahead into the first crossroads and came into the first gate ahead. On the second leg of the race (of the six total, three upwind and three downwind) Luna Rossa had put the bow in front, before suffering the return of Ineos, who appeared very fast today (in every direction).

From then on the English dominated the match race, until the fifth leg, when both boats came off the foils. Both Ineos and Luna Rossa were unable to get back into the air, thus exceeding the time limit set for each regatta. This challenge was therefore cancelled. Immediately after, the second match of the day was canceled as the wind was weak and, in the meantime, it had reached late afternoon. We will therefore start again tomorrow with the series tied at 1-1.
