A piece of mainsail breaks, Luna Rossa doesn’t start

The breakage of a piece of mainsail will prevent Luna Rossa from competing in the third race of the Louis Vuitton Cup final against Ineos Britannia and therefore the British boat can compete without rivals to take the 2-1 point. After the carbon rods that run inside the mainsail broke, the Luna Rossa crew tried to replace the sail that had been punctured but was unable to do so in time. When the jury started the pre-start phases of the third regatta, delayed due to strong winds, Ineos showed up in the garage, Luna Rossa did not and was disqualified.
