“There was a lot of material that brought comfort. I know I’m privileged. There are still those missing hugs and caresses that money cannot replace. People think that the children of famous people are like aliens. We have the right feelings. I have had to experience bullying. Suffering doesn’t look at the name, it just hits hard,” Mancini said in an interview.
At the same time, Mancini says that the surname was really also a burden.
“I even hated my last name. When people approached me to get to my father or came to talk, the conversation was only about him. Those people didn’t see Camilla, but Camilla Mancini. I am now proud of my last name, but it was also a burden. I felt a responsibility to represent my name in a certain way. That’s why I also missed out on many experiences.”
Camilla Mancini recently published his first book. In an interview related to the publication of the book, Mancini said that in addition to his family life, he also suffers from partial facial paralysis. This caused appearance pressure at a young age and also bullying as a child.
“At school, they told me I couldn’t join the games because I was different. They saw a different face and I was isolated. I was seven years old and I was ashamed. I felt like an outsider. How am I different, I thought. Later, the bullying became more subtle.”
Roberto Mancini is an Italian soccer legend and since then a very successful coach. As a player, he most successfully represented Sampdoria from 1982 to 1997 and played 36 times for the Italian A national team. He won the Italian championship twice.
