Trade unions BNP Paribas Fortis want to stop until the end of the year

The common trade union front at BNP Paribas Fortis submitted a strike notice on Tuesday evening. The trade unions are planning to outsource part of the bank’s customer service. The strike notice runs from Friday 28 February to 1 January 2026.

At the end of January, the bank announced its intention to outsource part of the activities and staff of its Client Service Center and to integrate from 2026 into a specific Belgian entity within Accenture. It would be more than 500 people on a total of 1,100 full -time equivalents.

The trade union representatives say they had made proposals to let the employees stay with the bank. They were not accepted, regrets the common trade union front.

Actions are planned for the near future, it is, without further details. No consultation with the management is planned, says Michelle Montignies of the Christian trade union CNE, through the spring break, which runs for French -speaking students from 24 February to 9 March.
