Vietnam urgently completes infrastructure for Ninh Thuan nuclear power project

The planning for development and application of atomic energy by 2030, the vision to 2050 approved by the Government has recently determined that it will be focused on investment, prioritize improving science and technology potential, human resource development, effective application of applications in industries and fields.

To accomplish this goal, the Government will focus on important solutions such as legal improvement; High quality human resource training; strengthen science and technology potential; Ensuring nuclear safety and rational supply of international activities. At the same time, raising community awareness about benefits and all atomic energy is also a key task in the long -term strategy.

In the immediate future, by 2030, the construction of the legal system, mechanisms and policies and state management agencies on atomic energy are completed in accordance with international practices.

The system of research, application and training establishments in the field of atomic energy is streamlined, upgraded in technical facilities and human quality, effective operation; Some key projects have been approved on schedule.

Especially in this period, the Government is urgently determined to complete and develop the national nuclear power infrastructure to serve the implementation of Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Project and continue to research and deploy the National Nuclear Power Development Program. Researching and building orientation to promote exploration, exploitation, processing and use of radioactive ores suitable to Vietnam’s practical conditions.

The training of human resources will also be standardized and granted professional certificates of nuclear medicine and radiation techniques to meet long -term development requirements.

Vision to 2050, Vietnam aims to widely apply atomic energy in economic sectors, improve the capacity of nuclear technology autonomy, making Vietnam a central center for the leading research, training and application of atomic energy in the region.

In the field of health, the planning aims to expand the application of radiation therapy and nuclear medicine in diagnosis and treatment, especially cancers. Vietnam will deploy advanced techniques such as Pet/CT, Spect and Agreement.

At the same time, the training program will be standardized according to international standards, building a team of radiologists, nuclear medicine and radiation technicians. Quality control and radiation safety in diagnosis and treatment will comply with the recommendations of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

For natural resources and environment, atomic energy is applied in monitoring, evaluation and protection of natural resources. Nuclear techniques will support soil moisture forecast, determine groundwater reserves, radiation mineral exploration, and rare soil, and evaluate areas at risk of geological complications.

In addition, Vietnam will build a radioactive map, evaluate emission from nuclear factory and research climatic impact through durable isotopes.

In industry, radiation technology is applied in non -destructive inspection to control the quality of the project, evaluate oil and gas storage, forecast equipment life. In addition, Vietnam aims to produce a number of radiation devices and radiation measuring devices to replace imports, while improving the capacity of maintenance and repair of these devices.

In agriculture, atomic energy is applied in crop breeds, plant protection, animal husbandry, aquaculture and post -harvest protection. Radiation techniques will also be deployed to treat harmful insects and protect agricultural products and food.

Vietnam strengthens the science and technology potential through the construction of key laboratories, the Center for Nuclear Technology Research and promotes international cooperation with IAEA.
