A call for large -scale help. On February 16, Alicia Villarreal gave a concert in the state of Michoacan in Mexico, when at the end of the latter, she made a signal to denounce the domestic violence of her husband, the musician Cruz Martínez.

“Break the silence”

According to the Mexican media relayed by El País, the singer was attacked at home by Cruz Martinez concealed in the cabinet of her bedroom, while the couple saw separate having started a divorce procedure in 2023. The situation would then have degenerated into a fight. But taking advantage of a moment of inattention from her ex-companion, Alicia Villarreal managed to escape. A few days after the incident, she filed a complaint for domestic violence. For the time being, Cruz Martínez, who is an American citizen, specifies the Spanish daily, remains not found.

To reassure his worried audience, the artist spoke via a press release, thanking him for his “Support and respect” as well as “Its invaluable solidarity”. Legal proceedings being underway, The singer clarified that she could not say more, before enjoining all the people who suffer violence, “To break the silence and to denounce them”.
