North Korea sends soldiers to Russia again

North Korea has according to South Korean information More soldiers sent to Russia. The soldiers from North Korea were “relocated” there, the AFP news agency learned from South Korean intelligence circles on Thursday.

This was done together with “some additional troops”, “apparently took place,” it said. The exact extent is “still checked”. Russia and Pyongyang did not confirm this at first.

At the beginning of February, Seoul had explained that North Korean soldiers who had fought on the side of the Russian army in the border region of Kursk had apparently been deducted from there.

“Since mid -January, the North Korean troops stationed in the Russian region of Kursk have apparently no longer been involved in fighting,” said the South Korean secret service NIS. As a possible reason, the high losses on the part of the North Koreans were mentioned.

10,000 soldiers stationed

The Ukrainian army had previously reported the deduction of the North Korean soldiers from the front.

According to South Korea, Ukraine and the United States, North Korea has stationed around 10,000 soldiers in the Kursk region since last October. Accordingly, they should help to recapture the area under Ukrainian control since a surprise offensive in August.
