Trump: “Ukraine can forget about joining NATO”

On the eve of the visit of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky to the White House, US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine can forget about NATO membership. “This is the reason why it all started,” Trump said.

The President also said that the United States will help Ukraine return as many territories as possible. “We will do everything so that the agreement becomes good for both parties. We will put all our efforts to regain as much as possible. We want it to get as much as possible,” he said

Trump also said that the United States does not intend to provide Ukraine guarantees: “We will ask Europe to do this because Europe is their closest neighbor. We will do our best to make everything go well.”

Recall: on February 23, Zelensky stated that he was ready to leave the President’s post in exchange for peace for Ukraine or to join his country in NATO. This was said in response to the question of the pressure of the United States and Russia regarding the holding of the presidential election.
