It evokes an internal action, without any link with France Télévisions. Antiques dealer Caroline Margeridon, known for her regular participation in the France 2 show “Affaire concluded” reacted this Tuesday after her necklace was blurred in a trailer for the program.
The 59-year-old businesswoman has constantly worn a necklace representing the Hebrew word “hai” which means “life” or “living” “for 35 years”. Raised in a Catholic family, she has explained in the past that she converted to Judaism and that the father of her children was of the same faith.
“They never asked me to remove it”
Several accounts on social networks noticed that the jewel, which does not have a religious character, had been blurred in a trailer broadcast on Deux, but remained clearly visible on the air in the programs presented by Julia Vignali. Some spoke of “censorship” on the part of France Télévisions. Faced with the incomprehension and the proportions taken by this event, Caroline Margeridon spoke this Tuesday to explain the facts.
“My hate, I’ve been doing this for 9 years Deal done on France 2 with Warner (production) who never told me to take it off and I have been on France Télévisions for 9 years and they have never asked me to remove it,” she insisted from the start. “We stop the controversies, we stop spitting on France Télévisions,” she asked her subscribers.
A modification linked to a France Télé charter
On the other hand, the matter has been well reported to the France 2 teams: “There is someone who blurred my hatred. For what ? We don’t know. Now I’m going to find out,” continued the buyer who had participated in “Dancing with the Stars” in 2024. According to her statements, an internal investigation is underway at France Télévisions to understand how this blurring could have occurred and gone on air. “They are with me,” however, insisted the entrepreneur based in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine (Seine-Saint-Denis). “We are putting out this fire which has no meaning. (…) Nobody forced me to remove it.”
Contacted, the group indicates that it applies a policy of political and religious neutrality in its promotional visuals, such as the trailer in question. This was modified as a result of the public service impartiality charter updated in June 2025 and led to a blurring of this sign which can be interpreted as religious. A tolerance exists on the air, which explains why the jewel is visible without difficulty in the program.
According to an internal source, blurring in the trailer was favored instead of asking Caroline Margeridon to shoot new promotional sequences. “It is not uncommon for journalists to wear a cross and to be asked to hide it on air, all ostentatious signs are concerned,” breathes the same interlocutor.
