Meta announced Thursday the launch of a new centralized support hub for Facebook and Instagram, in a move that represents a not-so-subtle admission of the historical difficulties users have experienced receiving technical assistance. The company explained that the new space will bring together all the functions necessary to report problems related to accounts or to attempt to recover profiles to which one no longer has access. The stated aim is to make obtaining help a simple and accessible process, explicitly recognizing that the support offered to date has not always met user expectations. The update is currently rolling out globally to users of both social platforms on iOS and Android.

In parallel with the centralization of assistance tools, the Menlo Park giant revealed that it is working on an assistant based on artificial intelligence, designed to provide instant and personalized help. This feature, designed to guide you through complex procedures such as account recovery or updating security settings, will initially be available exclusively to Facebook users. However, Meta has already confirmed its intention to explore the extension of this technology to other applications in its ecosystem in the near future, thus broadening the scope of automated support.

However, a question mark remains on the practical effectiveness of this hub in the specific case of users who find themselves completely locked out of their profiles, considering that access to the tool occurs mainly through the applications themselves. Despite this apparent logistical contradiction, the company highlighted ongoing improvements in the recovery process, which will leverage artificial intelligence not only to direct the user to the correct options, but also to enhance the systems’ ability to detect devices and locations used in the past, thus facilitating identity verification and regaining access.
