The US and Iran have reached a preliminary agreement on the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. NYT:

The United States and Iran have reached a tentative agreement to gradually end the war in the Middle East and lift Iran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a senior US official said, according to the NYT, noting that some of the most sensitive issues still remain unresolved.

So far, there has been no announcement from Iran, Iranian officials have presented conflicting comments about what the possible agreement might contain in the last 24 hours. A U.S. official said the deal has not yet been signed and still needs final approval from President Trump and Iran’s supreme leader, which could take days.

According to a US official, the mechanism for giving up highly enriched uranium reserves by Iran is still under negotiation.

Earlier today, Donald Trump announced in a post on his social network that he instructed his negotiators “not to rush into an agreement”. This after saying a day earlier that the peace deal with Iran was “largely negotiated”.

If the deal is approved, the United States could end its blockade of Iranian ports. The US took that step to put pressure on Tehran.
