Death toll from Israeli attacks against Lebanon since March rises to more than 3,600 despite the truce in force

The Lebanese authorities reported this Tuesday that more than 3,600 people have died and another 11,300 have been injured due to attacks carried out by the Israeli Army against their territory since March 2, despite a ceasefire in force since mid-April and extended on at least two occasions.

The Ministry of Health has raised the number of deaths to 3,666, including 29 in the last 24 hours, and 11,321 injuries, 133 of them in the last day, as a result of these bombings.

Furthermore, according to this latest report collected by the state news agency NNA, the number of fatalities from Israeli attacks since March 2 includes 131 health professionals.

In recent hours, the Israeli Army has launched new bombings against the Lebanese city of Tire, in the south of the country, leaving nearly ten dead, amid the increase in its attacks and the deepening of its invasion within the framework of the clashes that broke out on March 2 with the Shiite party-militia Hezbollah.

The last large-scale hostilities broke out that same day, when Hezbollah launched projectiles into Israeli territory in response to the assassination of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in the offensive launched on February 28 by Israel and the United States against the Asian country.

The parties had agreed to a ceasefire in November 2024 after thirteen months of fighting following the attacks of October 7, 2023, although since then Israel continued to launch frequent bombings against the country and maintained the presence of the military in several points arguing that it was acting against Hezbollah, amid complaints from Beirut and the group about these actions.
