Valmet is planning layoffs at the Helsinki Valve Plant – Approximately 340 people are in negotiations

“The exceptional situation has affected the oil and gas industry’s project projects, especially targeted at the plant. The effects of the corona pandemic in China are also hampering the availability and logistics of the necessary components, ”the company says.

For these reasons Valmet says it will start on Wednesday, May 25th. change negotiations.

“The negotiations cover the personnel of the Helsinki plant’s production and closely related functions in the flow control business line, excluding the functions of the positioning plant. Layoffs are temporary and last for a maximum of 90 days. There are about 340 people involved in the negotiations. ”

The company employs about 6,200 people in Finland, of whom about 830 work in the flow control business line.
