Amazon: Robots help employees

Amazon recently unveiled Proteus, billed as the first fully autonomous mobile robot. The robot can drive under large containers full of packages like a forklift, lift the goods and carry them to their destination like a human worker, according to the shipping giant.

relieve hard work

Amazon emphasizes that it is not about replacing employees, but “about the safe and harmonious cooperation of people and technology”.

Robots like Proteus could be necessary to deal with a looming labor shortage and make work safer and less strenuous. Rather than lifting heavy objects, Amazon says the robots will allow people to “focus on more rewarding work.”
