The company “Mozart” will donate 50,000 euros for the best business ideas of unemployed women in Serbia, the Coordination Body for Gender Equality announced today.
The agreement on the realization of the program of economic empowerment of women was signed by the president of the Coordination Body Zorana Mihajlović with the Minister of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Darija Kisić Tepavčević and the General Director of “Mozart” Slobodan Prodanović.
“One of the biggest problems of women who want to start their own business is the impossibility to allocate financial resources for that. With this project, we will help them, send all applications, choose the best and then follow the realization of entrepreneurial activities,” said Mihajlović.
She pointed out that the recently adopted Law on Gender Equality should enable equal conditions for women and men, and that it is important to do everything to make women economically more independent, because only the empowered can contribute to their family and society.
Darija Kisić Tepavčević pointed out that Serbia is a signatory to numerous documents which guarantee the equality of women and men and prohibit any discrimination.
“Also, the Employment Strategy for the period until 2025 provides a whole range of guidelines for improving the position of women, especially those from the most vulnerable categories. In the past, women were exposed to various obstacles, it is important to show not only that we are equal, but also better. This is an excellent example of cooperation between the state and socially responsible companies. The economic independence of women is one of the main preconditions for equality, “said Kisic Tepavcevic.
Slobodan Prodanović said that the company “Mozart” announced today a public call for grants in the total amount of 50,000 euros, or 10,000 euros for five unemployed women with the best business ideas, and the application deadline is 30 days.
“The goals of this action are economic empowerment of women, promotion of gender equality, development and promotion of entrepreneurial spirit and encouragement of entrepreneurship among unemployed women, especially in underdeveloped environments. We want to help women be economically independent and support them in marketing. that is, media promotion “, said Prodanović.
