The Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications and the Commissioner General of Serbia’s appearance at the Expo 2020 Dubai, Tatjana Matic, visited the final works on the Serbian pavilion today and announced that Serbia is ready to welcome numerous visitors at the opening ceremony on October 1.

As it was pointed out, the central place of Serbia’s presentation at the World Exhibition is an architecturally impressive pavilion, with an area of almost 2,000 square meters, specially built for this occasion.
The Serbian pavilion is located in the heart of the “Mobility District” of the World Exhibition, and it was designed as a kind of time capsule, which connects the legacy of the Neolithic Vinča culture with digitally advanced and modern Serbia.
Matic added that the pavilion is fully digitalized and provides the possibility of virtual travel through different realities, different time periods and different spaces, and that Serbia will present itself as an innovative and creative country by performing at the World Exhibition.
The world exhibition “Expo 2020 Dubai” will be held from October 1 this year to March 31 next year, under the slogan “Connecting minds, creating the future”.
During the six months of the World Exhibition, Serbia will present various economic sectors, scientific content, technological innovations, creative industries and tourist offer under the slogan “Serbia creates ideas – inspired by the past, we shape the future” and through more than 150 different events. presents itself as a modern, innovative country, attractive for the development of trade and tourism.
It will be presented why Belgrade was declared one of the five most creative cities in the world, why the organizers of the Expo recognized Serbia as a leader in the field of creative industries and innovations, and why they call us “Silicon Valley of the Balkans”, the statement said.
It was pointed out that the inspiration for Serbia’s performance was the revolutionary Vinča culture, which was the center of ideas and creations 7000 years ago.
At “EXPO 2020 Dubai”, Serbia will “come to life” in its virtual pavilion, with the help of state.of.the.art methuman technology and artificial intelligence, in the virtual world of a man who lived in Lepenski vir 10,000 years ago, and visitors will be able to communicate.
The creative part of the program will feature artists from Serbia who are already recognized on the global art scene, including Slobodan Trkulja, Goran Bregovic, Stefan Milenkovic, Lena Kovacevic, Sanja Kerkez, Jelena Gavrilovic, all with the support of the National Museum and the National Theater in Belgrade. it is stated in the announcement.
