The Minister of Agriculture of Serbia, Branislav Nedimović, stated today that the price of oil “jumped” because the price of raw sunflower has also risen since the oil was produced.
Nedimović told Prva TV that oil prices are now from 165 to 205 dinars per liter.
“When the price of oil jumps by 10 dinars, since on average one family consumes a maximum of four liters of oil per month, that is forty dinars. Well, that’s not even half an espresso in a cafe,” said Nedimović.
He stated that the price of raw sunflower was 36 dinars per kilogram, while today it is around 60 dinars, and added that the price of oil was not increased in proportion to the price of raw sunflower, but less.
“Last year, I know that the oil cost between 120 and 140 dinars, now from 165 to 205 dinars. The fact is that there was a jump, but that is accompanied by input,” said Nedimović.
He added that the prices of all cereals “went wild”, which, according to him, is good for Serbia and farmers.
