President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva described the current global scenario as increasingly unstable, marked by the resurgence of protectionism, unilateralism and the impact of the climatic crisis.

His criticism of unilateralism reached the United Nations Organization (UN). I haven’t seen our UN as insignificant as now. A UN that was able to create the state of Israel, but is not able to create the Palestinian statewho has been unable to achieve an agreement in that region of the world to end a genocide who is killing men and women in GazaLula added, in a forum sponsored by the New Development Bank (NDB), known as the Brics Bank.

He also showed him Dilma Rousseff, former Brazilian president and current director of the NDB, who is based in Shanghai, China.

Multilateralism is under pressure. We are witnessing a setback in the cooperation and resurgence of unilateralism. Tariffs, sanctions and financial restrictions are being used as political subordination toolshe expressed in the forum prior to Sunday’s summit, in which President Lula da Silva was present.

He also defended the use of local currencies in operations between the countries of this mechanism, two months ago, Trump threatened to impose a 100 percent tariff on the countries that leave the dollar.

A new trade currency is extremely important; I know it is complicated, but if we do not find a way to do it we will end the 21st century as the twentieth and will not be beneficial to anyonehe pointed out.

This Friday, the Finance Ministers of the block put a proposal to be included in the discussions of the heads of state next Sunday, in order to advance in a tax to the great fortunes, theme that last week suffered a setback when the group of the 7 most advanced countries decided to exclude the US transnationals from a lien of that type, by pressure of the President Trump.
