SNCF: disturbed traffic between Paris and Normandy because of a power supply problem

Rail traffic is very disrupted this Tuesday on the Paris-Caen-Cherbourg and Paris-Deauville line due to a “disturbance of facilities between Évreux and Mantes-la-Jolie”, said at dawn on the social network X SNCF Nomad Train, which operates the regional network.

The return to normal is not for now. In a situation point at 11 am, SNCF Nomad Train said that “the technical teams are still on site, always looking for the cause of the breakdown”. This is why the circulation of trains “will be very limited until this evening end of service”.

Several trains have been deleted and others could still be, she warns. “A suitable transport plan” has been put in place “one train per hour and by meaning,” she added.

Train traffic was first interrupted around 6 hours. Then traffic resumed around 8:30 am but “disturbed between Évreux and Mantes”, announced SNCF Nomad Train, providing at that time “about 40 minutes late” on each train.

A reconnaissance gear on the incident area

“A train without traveler” was sent to the incident area “to check if the line is usable with a minimum service,” SNCF Nomad Train announced in its point of situation at 8:10 am. “If the circulation of this train is conclusive, a return to traffic can be carried out with delays to be expected in the passage of the area,” said the operator.

At 9 am, SNCF Nomad Train announced that “the recognition train makes its journey between Évreux and Mantes to help understand the breakdown and make repairs as soon as possible”.

According to SNCF Réseau in BFMTV, the “disturbance of installations” would be a “electrical supply problem” in Martainville. Impacted travelers can request compensation on TER.SNCF.com.
