AGI – New record for public debt in April. This was announced by the Bank of Italy, reporting that the debt of public administrations increased by 29.3 billion compared to the previous month, amounting to 2,680.5 billion.

The increase reflects the increase in cash and cash equivalents (17.1 billion, to 101.8) and the need for the month (11.9 billion). The spreads and premiums on issue and redemption, the revaluation of inflation-linked securities and the change in exchange rates increased the debt by a further 0.4 billion.
