Outdoor bouncer in Versuz sentenced to 36 months in prison for violence

In contrast to the thirty-something man from Hoogstraten, that colleague still had a clean criminal record, so he was given the favor of suspending the sentence for two years. The man from Kontich still works as a doorman. On February 20, 2022, he was at the entrance and was confronted by a drunk man who did not want to leave and was causing a nuisance. “He did give a hard push,” said the criminal judge. The push caused the drunken man to fall against the barriers. About nine minutes later, the doorman from Hoogstraten struck another blow, causing the man to fall again.

Although the events of November 2021 took place during corona times and everyone wore a face mask, the court certainly believed that the defendant involved the bald-headed bouncer with a tattoo in the neck, as the victim had described. The tattooed doorman was subject to legal repetition, because in December 2018 he was sentenced to 30 months in prison for beatings. Even then he worked in the nightlife. He had already been convicted fifteen times, five of which were correctional. This involved two deliberate blows.

The company Club Entertainment behind the Versuz was also directly summoned for the aggression case of November 2021. According to the court, the outside bouncer worked in the security staff as a subordinate for Club Entertainment. The victim had suffered a serious head injury, among other things. That is why the outdoor bouncer from Hoogstraten and Club Entertainment must pay the victim compensation of 142,368 euros. The man was also granted a reservation for possible post-traumatic epilepsy. The convicted bouncer from Hoogstraten must also pay around 6,000 euros in court costs.
