The Knesset Economic Committee approved the rules for collecting tolls on toll roads, presented by the Ministry of Transport, and introducing a fee for tolls.
A fee will be charged to drivers for tolls on the new section of the Trans-Israel Highway (Highway 6) between the Somekh and Beit HaEmek interchanges. In this case, drivers with a subscription will be exempt from the commission.
The commission amount will be 1.13 shekels + VAT, that is, 1.33 shekels, linked to the consumer price index with indexation every six months.
Previously, the fare for travel on the new section was approved, which will be 3.95 shekels. Drivers traveling through this section on a regular basis will be entitled to a 40% discount.
