“Miholjski susreti sela”, which started in October, will gather 961 villages and almost 100,000 participants and visitors by the end of the year, the Beta agency in the Ministry for the Care of the Village, which finances the event, was told today.

“The people accept or reject. ‘Miholjski susreti sela’ are obviously accepted,” said the Minister for the Care of the Village Milan Krkobabic regarding the statements of participants and visitors of so far successfully held over 50 such events throughout Serbia, that this event should grow into a traditional one. .

Last night, the manifestation in the Kraljevo village of Ušće was ceremoniously opened with the song “The jay of birds sang” by the vocal soloist Ivan Žarčanin, and this member of the local KUD “Studenica” won the first place for objects made with the woodcarving technique.

In the village House of Culture, near the monastery and the river Studenica, a mix of folk dances followed, and the young virtuoso Veljko Aleksić presented himself on the accordion.

Winners in the disciplines “Best Stand” and “Best Handicraft” were also announced, and the competition continues today in the sports disciplines of indoor soccer, shooting threes and pulling the rope.
The event will gather 400 participants from 15 rural local communities in the city of Kraljevo, and 1,000 visitors are expected.

Today’s host of the Miholjski susreti sela is also the municipality of Aleksinac, where the finals and award ceremony for the winners of the competition, which took place in the villages of Katun, Donji Adrovac, Donje Suhotno, Loćika and Ljupten, are being organized.

Descendants of Aleksinac miners, 500 participants and about 700 visitors these days socialized and competed and expressed the desire to include this event in the traditional ones.

Residents of 16 villages in the municipality of Aleksinac competed in making handicrafts, presenting the skills of their cultural and artistic societies, singing original songs, toasts, folk dances, folk instruments and showing customs.

“Miholjski susreti sela” gathered 80 participants and about 500 visitors in the municipality of Secanj yesterday, who had the opportunity to enjoy a rich cultural and artistic program, ethno exhibitions and tasting of specialties of this region. The whole event was accompanied by an exhibition of photographs “Photo safari Jaša Tomić”.

The president of the municipality of Secanj, Predrag Radjenović, said that the common goal should be to strengthen and improve the village.

“A small contribution from all of us can do a lot to return the village to its old glory and continue what our people once started a long time ago,” Radjenović added.

This weekend, a diverse program of the event was announced in the villages of the municipalities of Trstenik and Vrnjačka Banja.
