Erkki Kuronen leaving Sotkamo Silver to lead the Tulikivi talc mining project

Brimstone has appointed Erkki Kuronen its subsidiary Nordic Talc Oy:n as CEO.

Nordic Talc is investigating the feasibility of talc mines to be established in Suomussalmi and Juuka. Nordic Talc is currently conducting a feasibility study on the talc project, which will map, among other things, the project’s profitability, environmental effects and mining technical aspects.

“I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Erkki Kuronen as CEO of Nordic Talc Oy. Erki has 20 years of experience in talk shows and business Mineralsilta World as well as the valuable experience of starting the Sotkamo Silver mine and ramping up production,” Tulikivi CEO Heikki Vauhkonen says in the press release.

Sotkamo Silverin Kuronen, who served as Group CEO, has announced that he will resign from his position in the company. Kuronen will continue working for Sotkamo Silver during the agreed transition period to ensure a smooth transfer of duties.

“I thank the board of Tulikivi for the trust and I am very happy about the opportunity to take the lead in Nordic Talc. I look forward to promoting the development of Suomussalmi’s talc reserves towards responsible and successful industrial utilization. Talc is used in our daily lives, for example in plastics, paints and new bio-based packaging,” says Kuronen in the press release.
