The crude oil production of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) was one million 671 thousand barrels per day in August, a figure that represented a drop of one percent compared to the same period last year.
The extraction of oil that considers private partners added one million 691 thousand barrels per day on average, a decrease of 1.05 percent compared to the eighth month of 2021.
Crude oil exports were 915 thousand barrels per day in August, a result that showed a reduction of 16.66 percent compared to the same month a year ago.
Pemex sold 147 thousand barrels less during the eighth month of the year compared to July, so its volume contracted 13.84 percent. With this result, the rate of exports of the oil company slowed down, since in June and July it sold abroad a volume greater than one million barrels per day.
The state company pointed out that the value obtained from exports in August totaled 2 thousand 471 million dollars, a drop of 22.09 percent compared to the seventh month.
It is the second contraction after reaching a maximum of 3 thousand 272 million dollars in June, as a result of the rise in the price of energy.
Compared to August of last year, Pemex’s income from the sale of crude oil abroad increased 21.72 percent.
