STOCK EXCHANGE: The Helsinki Stock Exchange ended up rising – Fortum’s IPO went through despite the rebellion of small investors

The Helsinki Stock Exchange continued its upward trend on Wednesday. At the end of trading, the general index was at 10,987 points, or 0.6 percent higher than yesterday’s closing reading.

Among the most traded stocks on the exchange Nordea was up 3.1 percent and Sampo up 0.4 percent.

Among the stock market’s biggest gainers were a software company Heeros 16.3 percent increase and accounting firm Administer, whose stock was up 6.4 percent with no special news. Gaming company Remedy the share was up 9.0 percent.

Among the hardest hit was an alcohol company Anora Groupwhose share was down 3.9 percent.

Anora announced its July–September interim report. With a turnover of 181.9 million euros, the company guaranteed a comparable operating profit of 14.4 million euros.

In the corresponding period of last year, the turnover was 165.0 million euros and the comparable operating profit was 15.2 million euros.

After the result, the company announced its new financial goals and shared the company’s growth strategy and sustainability roadmap for the years 2022–2030.

The company’s goal is annual turnover growth of 3–5 percent, including acquisitions. The comparable EBITDA target is 16 percent. The company aims to maintain a stable or growing dividend. The dividend ratio is 50–70 percent of the financial year’s result.

The company also said that Lars Egedal has been appointed Chief Growth Officer (CGO) and a member of the management team from 1 January 2023.

Egedal started with Anora Globe Wines as CFO. Globus Wine is Denmark’s leading wine company, which was acquired by Anora in July 2022.

Fortum’s offer to the state passed, order for Kone

Energy company Fortum’s extraordinary general meeting started at noon in Helsinki. The reason for the meeting was the state investment company For Solidium directed free share issue, and about 92 percent of the votes cast were in favor of the issue.

According to the proposal of Fortum’s board of directors, the maximum number of new shares to be issued in the directed share issue is 8,970,000 shares.

Anti has attracted a lot of criticism among small investors and minority owners. Many said in advance that they were against the proposal. Due to the issue directed at Solidium, the ownership of the small shares will be diluted at the same time. A group of small investors from all over Finland came to the general meeting on Wednesday to test the company’s representatives.

The Finnish state owns a 50.76 percent stake in Fortum. After the issue, the share of ownership controlled by the state will rise to 51.26 percent.

Fortum’s share was down 0.7 percent.

Elevator company Kone said he was delivering products to a subway line in Chongqing, China. Delivery includes 28 Kone elevators and 228 Kone escalators. In addition, the order comes with a two-year maintenance contract.

The total length of Chongqing subway line 10 is almost 10 kilometers. The project is scheduled to be completed in June 2023. The order was booked for the third quarter of 2022.

Kone’s share was down 1.5 percent at the end of the day.
