The Serbian Chamber of Commerce will organize an online conference on June 25, at which support programs and credit lines for small and medium enterprises in the Western Balkans will be presented, as well as venture capital financing opportunities, it was announced today.
The conference, within the WB EDIF Business Forum 2021 and in partnership with the European Entrepreneurship Network (EEN) and the European Investment Fund (EIF), will be held through the innovative online platform FINNO https://finno.b2match.io/ intended for business development of companies from the region .
“The basic idea of establishing the FINNO platform was to provide small and medium-sized companies with complete information on available sources of financing from European and regional funds and financial support programs,” said Gordana Tiodorović, assistant director of the Sector for Representation and Protection of Interests.
As she explained, the platform, in addition to the sources of financing business projects, contains unified current calls and news, a base of supply and demand, as well as connecting companies in order to develop technologies and innovations.
The platform, developed at the initiative of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, as the coordinator of the EEN Serbia consortium and with the support of the EEN consortium of the region, offers the possibility of organizing online events and bilateral meetings but also contains all necessary information on available EU and regional funds and financial support programs.
The goal is to have all the necessary information for the development of innovation, competitiveness and business of companies from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Macedonia, Croatia and Slovenia in one place.
The creation of the FINNO platform was also supported by European partners.
Marco Giuliani from the European Investment Fund pointed out that an information platform like this can be very useful for companies that can thus get directly acquainted with the EU initiatives that are available to them.
Sinisa Marcic from the Regional Cooperation Council said that one of the key goals of the Action Plan for the Common Regional Market until 2024 is to create a dynamic innovation ecosystem in the Western Balkans and encourage industrial development, and that this platform is a powerful tool for achieving those goals.
“On the one hand, the platform enables better information about available European Union funds and their better utilization, while the possibility of bilateral connections and business operations of companies will improve business, economic development and life of citizens in the Balkan region,” Marcic said.
