President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the application of personal sanctions against 300 individuals and 141 legal entities.
In the list of individuals against whom sanctions are imposed, Syrian citizen Bashar Hafez al-Assad, born 11/11/1965. The current president of Syria is named exactly the same, but his date of birth is September 11, 1965, Interfax-Ukraine notes.
Of the 300 individuals against whom sanctions have been imposed, three are citizens of Syria, seven are Iranians, and the rest are Russians. The sanctions were introduced for a period of 10 years and include, in particular, the blocking of assets and trade operations, transit and transportation through the territory of Ukraine, the annulment of licenses, a ban on the privatization and purchase of land, the transfer of technology and intellectual property rights.
The list of 141 legal entities includes mainly enterprises of the Russian defense industry, such as the Kalashnikov Concern, the Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defense Concern, the Ural Automobile Plant, the United Shipbuilding Corporation, and the Khrunichev State Space Research and Production Center.
In addition, it has 16 Iranian companies, including Shahed Aviation Industries Company, Iran Aircraft Industries Company, Safiran Airport Services and several airlines.
The list also includes three UAE-based air transport companies, Success Aviation Services FZC (Success Aviation) and iJet Global DMCC (iJet), which have partnered with Safiran to coordinate flights between Iran and the Russian Federation, including those related to the transportation of Iranian UAVs.
