Russia accepted the extension of the Ukrainian grain agreement in just 60 days

Russia has accepted the extension of the agreement on the export of Ukrainian grain for only 60 days, and not for 120 days, as announced by Kiev, spokeswoman for Russian diplomacy Maria Zakharova said today.

“We see statements from different parties that the ‘grain agreement’ has been extended for 120 days. We have repeated several times that the Russian side has informed all interested parties that the agreement has been extended for 60 days,” Zakharova said.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ukrainian officials announced earlier today that the agreement allowing Ukraine to export grain via the Black Sea has been extended.

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov announced on Twitter that the contract was extended for 120 days.

The Russian delegation that met with senior UN officials in Geneva said on Monday that Moscow was ready to accept an extension of the agreement for only 60 days.
