Ministry: Due to accidents in TENT, units B1 and B2 are out of operation, normalization tomorrow
The session of the Working Group for monitoring the security of energy and energy supply was urgently convened today due to the accidents that occurred at the “Nikola Tesla” Thermal Power Plant in Obrenovac, the Ministry of Mining and Energy of Serbia announced.

An accident on block B2 caused by damage to the mill wheel threw the block out of operation, but no workers were injured.Block B2 is expected to be returned to the system tomorrow.

Block B1 in TENT has not been in the system since yesterday due to the fire that broke out on the fuel oil system burner, and it should be back in operation by tomorrow morning, announced the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS).

At the session of the Working Group chaired by the line minister Zorana Mihajlović, it was stated that the production of electricity in the capacities that use renewable sources is increasing, primarily in hydroelectric power plants. The transmission and distribution system, as it was said, is functioning without major problems.

Energy reserves for heating plants in Serbia are sufficient until the end of the winter season, and there is no fear that the supply of thermal energy will be interrupted, it is stated in the announcement.

Belgrade Power Plants announced that they will deliver thermal energy 24 hours a day.

It was also announced at the session that the gas stocks in the Banatski dvor warehouse have been increased.
