Matic: The number of foreign tourists in Serbia increased by about 54 percent during the holiday week
“Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matic said today that in the period from December 27, 2021 to January 3, 2022, the number of foreign tourist arrivals increased by 54.4 percent while the number of overnight stays increased by 53.7 percent.” , the Ministry announced.“That week, the total number of tourist arrivals in Serbia increased by 34.7 percent. The number of foreign tourist arrivals increased by 54.4 percent, while the number of overnight stays increased by 53.7 percent,” Matic said.

She added that the number of foreign tourist arrivals in Belgrade increased by 72% that week, which is a confirmation that the capital has become one of the most attractive destinations, especially on the tourist map of the region.
Matic said that the extremely high tourist traffic during the holiday week in Serbia and Belgrade is an indicator of the successful development of domestic tourism, but also the economic potential of that industry.

“In the period from December 27, 2021 to January 3, 2022, 260,612 overnight stays were realized in Serbia, of which 132,101 were realized by domestic tourists and 128,520 by foreign tourists,” Matic said.
