Post of Serbia: Strategic cooperation with the Office for IT and eGovernment

The director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, Mihailo Jovanović, and the acting director of the Post of Serbia, Zoran Djordjević, signed an agreement today which envisages that the public company uses the services of the State Data Center in Belgrade. The Office for IT and eGovernment and the Post of Serbia are cooperating on several very important projects that contribute to timely information, as well as providing support to citizens in the use of e-government services, the Post said in a statement.

“This agreement is a very important step in our partnership and the basis for ambitious plans
further. With the progress made in the comprehensive digitalization of society and administration, the Post Office, along with
support of the Office, has come a long way in digitizing its services and processes, which we have
one of the primary goals, which allows us to expand the scope, availability and improve quality
service, “Djordjevic said.

As he pointed out, the Post of Serbia is developing digital solutions for numerous classic services, but also completely new digital services, in accordance with the modern needs of citizens.

“Application solutions will, among other things, enable citizens to pay bills from their homes, organize sending and receiving shipments, send eTelegrams and eGreetings, while for the needs of the economy we are working on the eNotar project. resources and increase profits. In all these tasks, the Office for IT and eGovernment is a valuable and reliable partner, “Djordjevic said.

According to Jovanovic, the Office for IT and eGovernment is working in partnership with the Post of Serbia to develop e-government, so in more than 700 post offices in Serbia, citizens can get help to become eCitizens and get their e-identity necessary to use e-government services. on the eGovernment Portal and other state portals.

During the corona virus pandemic, over 16 million SMS messages were sent regarding vaccination of citizens against Covid-19 and other services thanks to the infrastructure of the Post of Serbia, trying to provide citizens with timely information on vaccination dates and locations. a business move by this company that will accelerate the development of digitalization and the provision of Post services, “said Jovanovic.

He stated that over 500,000 digital green certificates have been issued at the post office counters so far, those used in Serbia and EU compatible, which, as he assessed, is another great indicator of cooperation.

“The state optical infrastructure in the length of over 250 kilometers, which connects all public institutions in Belgrade, was realized in cooperation with the Post of Serbia and represents the backbone of digitalization of public administration,” said Jovanovic.
