GUANGZHOU The Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) region has become the second largest destination for Chinese overseas investment, according to the China-CELAC Private Sector Forum held on May 24 in Dongguan, south China’s Guangdong Province, Xinhua reported.
In 2022, China-LAC trade will reach 485.7 billion US dollars, an increase of 7.7 percent compared to the previous year. More than 3,000 Chinese enterprises operate in the LAC region, including many private ones.
Su Lejiang, executive vice president of the All China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), said China is pursuing high-quality development and high-level opening-up, which will surely bring more opportunities to LAC countries and the rest of the world.
Su said that Chinese private enterprises, when carrying out economic, trade and investment cooperation with LAC countries, should actively take social responsibility and contribute to the continuous and long-term development of friendly cooperation between China and LAC.
The forum was hosted by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and the Guangdong Provincial Government.
