The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, stated today that “there will be nothing with Rio Tinto until we and the people decide.”
“I will not hide from anyone, but I will tell the people what the alternatives are, to tell the people: what you gain, what you lose,” said Vucic, who is in Brussels for a meeting with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
He said that he talked with lawyers about the Law on Water, which was recently adopted by the Assembly of Serbia, and he will not sign it if it is not in accordance with the Constitution.
As he added, “if it is in line, he will sign, regardless of whether I like it or not.”
“That law was made to regulate rafts, so the ‘raft-mafia’ rebelled, and then they used these lies that tell fairy tales that it’s because of Rio Tinto, because I don’t know what,” said Vucic.
