US President Joe Biden has authorized $200 million in additional military aid to Ukraine. For this, a special procedure was involved that did not require approval by Congress.
Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is responsible for providing assistance. The funds can be used both to finance military training and to supply military equipment.
This is the second U.S. military aid package for Ukraine approved since the start of the Russian invasion. The first was for $350 million.
At the same time, the US administration continues to reject Ukraine’s demand to close Ukrainian airspace and hand over to Ukraine aircraft in service with the Polish Air Force. Official Washington believes that this will escalate the conflict.
