Since the beginning of the pandemic, Tel Aviv City Hall has earned 0.6 billion shekels from traffic fines

In 2020-2021, during the coronavirus pandemic, the Tel Aviv Municipality issued 2.9 million fines totaling NIS 660 million. This data was released at the request of the Freedom of Information Movement.

The vast majority of the fines, amounting to NIS 595 million, were issued for improper parking of vehicles and for the passage of private vehicles in the lanes allocated for public transport. Of this amount, 365 million shekels have so far been paid and recovered.

The amount of fines issued for violations related to non-compliance with epidemiological requirements amounted to 25.8 million shekels
