PKS: Brussels approved higher quotas for Serbia for steel exports to the EU

The European Commission has increased the quotas for the export of certain types of steel from Serbia to the EU market, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce announced today.

With the new regulation, the European Commission redistributed the quotas for the import of steel into the EU, which have so far been intended for Russia and Belarus.

“We believe that this change in EU regulations will be used by our companies from the steel industry, which are also large exporters,” said Bojan Stanić, Assistant Director of the Sector for Strategic Analysis, Services and Internationalization.

He reminded that the steel industry of Serbia has been limited by EU quotas on steel imports for several years, although there is a Free Trade Agreement with the EU.
