Fuel prices continue to fall in Austria

Fuel prices continue to go down. This morning, a liter of diesel cost an average of 1.893 euros, after 1.976 euros the day before. The ÖAMTC registered 1.807 euros for premium petrol today, yesterday it was 1.889 euros per liter.

Oil prices, on the other hand, have risen again, albeit less strongly than the day before. A barrel (159 liters) of North Sea Brent cost around 10:50 a.m. 107.54 US dollars, an increase of 0.84 percent.

Noticeable development

The SPÖ sees its demand confirmed today that Economics Minister Margarete Schramböck (ÖVP) must take action against the high fuel prices and refers to the price law. “A current VCÖ analysis proves that in no other EU country have fuel prices risen as much as in Austria.

This is a clear case in which the Austrian price law must be applied,” said SPÖ energy spokesman Alois Schroll. If the minister did not apply the law, she would be breaking it.
