Gas supplier AECO/Energie2030 can no longer meet obligations, Fluvius temporary emergency supplier

Because AECO/Energie2030 can no longer meet its contractual responsibilities in the Flemish gas market, grid operator Fluvius denied the energy supplier access to the Flemish gas distribution network on Friday. This is according to a news statement from Fluvius. Fluvius will become the emergency provider for AECO/approximately Energie2030’s 200 gas consumers in Flanders as of Friday.

The emergency provider role is a temporary solution in which Fluvius charges the customers’ gas use until they have signed a new commercial contract with another supplier. Fluvius’ charges for this are less appealing than most commercial rates. Customers will be encouraged to choose a more attractive contract with a commercial supplier as soon as possible.
