Last year, Belgians spent 12.1 billion euros on online shopping. A research by the sector federation BeCommerce confirms this. In comparison to 2020, this is an increase of 18%.
According to the report, Belgians made an average of twenty internet purchases worth 1,445 euros last year. This is a 250-euro increase over 2020.
“The e-commerce boom brought on by the Covid crisis is far from over: customers have embraced the benefits of online buying,” says Sofie Geeroms, managing director of BeCommerce, who campaigns for modernized regulations, such as in the realm of night employment.
