Ministers of Tourism of Serbia and Bulgaria on cooperation between the two countries
The Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Serbia, Tatjana Matic, and the Minister of Tourism of Bulgaria, Hristo Prodanov, talked today in Belgrade about the joint appearance of the two countries in cross-border programs and projects in the field of cultural and historical heritage.The topic of the meeting “was to determine the regions and areas in which cooperation within the historical and cultural heritage can be established on the basis of the signed Memorandum of Understanding from 2019 and joint participation in cross-border programs and projects,” the Serbian Ministry said.

Officials stated that the creation of a new joint tourist offer, based on cultural and historical heritage, would significantly accelerate and improve the tourism sector of both countries, the statement said.

There are currently two certified tourist routes passing through both countries, the “Roman Emperors’ Way and the Danube Wine Route” and the “European Industrial Heritage Route”.

Both contribute to the promotion of cultural and industrial tourism, the Serbian Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications added.

An international tourism fair is under way in Belgrade, hosted by the Bulgarian minister.
