The Ministry for the care of the village announced today that it has announced a public competition for the allocation of non-refundable funds for the organization of the event called “Miholjski susreti sela”. “Existence, a roof over your head and earnings are in the first place for all of us, but man is a social being and will live where he has contact with his peers and content for his own interests,” said the Minister for the Care of the Village Milan Krkobabic.

The decree envisages the organization of a one-day or multi-day event that can be held in all populated places and villages on the territory of Serbia, outside city, municipal seats and suburban settlements.

The applicants for the public competition are local self-government units from the territory of Serbia, which design the program, duration and place of the manifestation “Miholjski susreti sela Srbije” which can be held from October 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021.

Activities in which the population of the village from the territory of one unit of local self-government participates can be in the field of dramatic arts, literature, literary skills and other arts (competitions in singing, recitation, acting, painting, etc.), holding sports competitions, promoting, preserving and the improvement of old crafts and cultural and artistic heritage, the making of works of art and handicrafts, as well as other activities in which the villagers can demonstrate their knowledge and skills and compete in them.

The goal, as it is stated, is to enrich the social and sports life of the inhabitants in the villages, to nurture the traditional way of life and the cultural and historical heritage.

A total of 43 million dinars has been allocated for this program in the budget of Serbia, and the maximum amount of approved funds per one application is up to 500,000 dinars, and the competition lasts until September 3, 2021.
