Bitcoin continues to break records: The virtual currency broke another record today (Tuesday), when it first crossed the $ 50,000 threshold. Just for comparison, about a year ago, the value of Bitcoin was only about $ 9,500.
During these hours, the value of Bitcoin rises by 4% and puts it at a rate of $ 49,770, after earlier reaching a level of $ 50,191. The currency is currently recording a 73% increase in 2021, following the 170% rise in the fourth quarter last year.
The digital currency has been a resounding success in recent weeks, thanks to the support of senior business figures around the world. Among them were veteran hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones, Stan Druckenmiller and also the richest man in the world, Elon Musk, owner of Tesla, which recently bought $ 1 billion worth of bitcoin coins.
This week it was reported in the Bloomberg network that the investment division of the Morgan Stanley Banking Corporation is also considering betting on the currency, all this while the Bank of New York Hotel has announced that it will offer its customers Bitcoin services. The credit card company MasterCard has also announced that it will allow its cardholders to make transactions in Bitcoin.
