The Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Serbia, Tatjana Matić, who is also the General Commissioner of Serbia at “Expo 2020 Dubai2”, presented the Serbian Pavilion at the World Exhibition in Belgrade today.

A little more than a month before the start of “EXPO 2020 Dubai”, for which the hosts expect 25 million visitors from all over the world, Matic opened a presentation center with the senior advisor to the Prime Minister of Serbia for creative industries and tourism and Deputy Commissioner General of Serbia for the world exhibition Ana Ilic. Pavilion of Serbia in “Gallery Belgrade”.

At this place, all visitors will be able to walk for the first time and get acquainted with the Serbian Pavilion at the upcoming World Exhibition in Dubai, the ministry announced.

As it was specified, with the help of the most modern VR technology, visitors will be able to visit and follow the events at the Pavilion of Serbia live, in virtual reality.

In addition to visiting the Pavilion, all interested representatives of companies and businessmen will be able to get all the necessary information on how to apply for their participation in the Serbian business delegation, at this most important global event in history.

Showroom in Gallery Belgrade, will be open every day from 10.00 to 22.00.

The topic of Serbia’s appearance at the World Exhibition in Dubai is “Serbia creates ideas – Inspired by the past, we create the future”.

The pavilion of Serbia, with an area of ​​2,000 square meters, is located in the thematic part “Mobility”.

The Serbian pavilion is designed as a kind of time capsule, with a sloping roof modeled on Vinča buildings, connecting the legacy of 7,000 years old Vinča culture with digitally advanced, modern Serbia, which is the backbone of the performance at the upcoming World Exhibition.

The pavilion will be fully digitized and will provide the possibility of virtual travel, both through different realities and through different epochs of time, forever erasing the division between the physical and digital worlds.

In this way, the virtual exhibition in the Serbian Pavilion allows visitors to get to know Serbia, not only live at the pavilion in Dubai, but from anywhere on the planet.

Visitors are becoming digital beings – avatars who can explore the endless possibilities of our virtual exhibition spaces, as well as communicate with other avatars in real time, and even arrange a meeting, the statement said.

The latest technology will recreate and introduce visitors to the 7,000.year.old revolutionary and innovative Vinča culture, as well as to Serbian greats who have indebted humanity such as Nikola Tesla, Mihajlo Pupin, Milutin Milanković.

At the same time, millions of visitors from all over the world will be able to explore the greatest treasures of the national museums of Serbia, technological innovations and tourist offer during the six months of the Expo.

“Participation in World Exhibitions has long gone beyond presenting the culture, history and identity of a country. The main function of participating in the World Exhibition of each participating country is to present innovations, technological and scientific successes, business opportunities and connect with the business community of the Middle East. The world exhibition – “EXPO 2020 Dubai” will be held from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022, and the topic is “Connecting minds, creating the future”.

This will be the first World Exhibition ever organized in the Arab world, in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA region), where the presence was confirmed by more than 190 countries.
