Retirees increased by 4,572 citizens and their pensions decreased

Official data, reviewed by Al-Anbaa, revealed that about 4,572 male and female citizens retired from their jobs during the year 2021, 62% of whom retired from the government sector, amounting to 2,847 male and female citizens.

The total living pensioners at the end of last December amounted to 153.64 thousand male and female citizens, compared to 149 thousand male and female citizens at the end of 2020, this comes while the average pension for citizens decreased by 4 dinars, reaching 1270 dinars per month at the end of 2021, compared to 1274 dinars at the end of December 2020.

The number of widowed citizens, children and other eligible beneficiaries increased by 3729 people during 2021, as their numbers reached 92,59 thousand beneficiaries at the end of December, compared to 88.87 thousand at the end of 2020.

In detail, the number of retired civilians working for an employer increased by 3,914 retired civilians during 2021, as their number reached 117,3 thousand retired men and women at the end of last December, compared to 113,400 retirees at the end of December 2020.

The government sector accounted for 73% of the total new civilian retirees, amounting to 2,847 male and female citizens, bringing their number from 97.83 thousand retirees in 2020 to 100.67 thousand at the end of December 2021, while the number of retirees from the oil sector increased by 275 retirees, bringing their number by the end of 2021 to about 7,585 people, compared to 7.31 thousand at the end of 2020. The number of retired male and female citizens in the private sector increased by 792 new retirees in 2021, bringing their number to 9,057, compared to 8,265 in 2020.

The number of retired civilians working for their own account increased to 5,058 male and female citizens during 2021, an increase of 152 persons, compared to 4,906 male and female citizens in 2020.

In terms of the military, the number of retirees from the three sectors increased during 2021 by 506 new retirees, bringing their number to 31.26 thousand pensioners and retired women by the end of 2021, compared to 30.76 thousand pensioners at the end of 2020. In detail, the number of retirees from the Ministry of Defense increased by 466 people, bringing their number to 12.58 thousand people, compared to 12.11 thousand at the end of 2020, while the number of retirees from the Ministry of Interior increased during the same period by 6 people, bringing their number to 13.17 thousand, while their number in the National Guard increased by 34 people, bringing the number to 5.51 thousand retirees. In terms of pensions, the average pension of civilian retirees working for an employer decreased by 5 dinars, so that their average pension at the end of December 2021 reached 1216 dinars, compared to 1221 dinars at the end of the same month of 2020.

Among these civilians, retired workers in the private sector witnessed the highest rate of decline in the average retirement pension by 36 dinars per month, as it reached 1,374 at the end of December 2021, compared to 1,410 dinars at the end of 2020.

The average pension for retirees from the oil sector increased by 4 dinars to reach 1781 dinars at the end of 2021, compared to 1,777 dinars at the end of 2020, while the average pension for government retirees decreased by 4 dinars to reach 1159 dinars at the end of 2021 compared to 1163 dinars at the end of 2020.

As for self-employed civilians, their average pension salary increased by two dinars to 690 dinars per month in 2021, compared to 688 dinars at the end of December 2020.

As for the military, their average retirement pension increased by about 1 dinars per month, so that the average pension for 2021 reached 1,567 dinars, compared to 1,566 dinars in 2020.

The average pension of retirees from the Ministry of Defense decreased by two dinars to reach 1621 dinars per month in 2021, compared to 1623 dinars per month in 2020, while the average pensions for retirees from the Interior were fixed at an average of 1540 dinars per month without any change, while the average pensions for retirees from the National Guard increased by 7 dinars. To 1,507 dinars per month, compared to 1,500 in 2020.

The figures showed that the number of pension recipients from widows, children and other beneficiaries of pensions behind civilians working for an employer increased by 2581 people to reach 68,533 thousand people by the end of 2021, while the average per capita share of them was fixed at 447 dinars per month. As for their self-employed civilian beneficiaries, their number increased by 190 to 2072, compared to 1882 at the end of 2020, while their retirement pension decreased by 7 dinars to 272 dinars, compared to 279 dinars in 2020. For their military counterparts, they increased by 958, bringing their number to By the end of 2021, about 21.99 thousand people, while their average share increased by two dinars to 458 dinars.
