During the visit to the 31st Barbecue Festival, Matić stated that due to that event, Leskovac is recognized on the tourist map of Serbia by its barbecue specialties, its ministry announced.
“This greatly contributes to the growth of the image of Leskovac as a large center of southern Serbia, bearing in mind that the event is annually visited by close to half a million visitors,” she said.
She added that Leskovac is a city with a long and rich history, with many natural beauties in the surroundings.
She reminded that near the mountain Kukavica, which is considered by many to be an air spa, is Grdelička gorge, the Strict Nature Reserve “Zeleniče” and the remains of a fortress from the 15th century, Skobaljić grad.
According to her, there is also one of the most important archeological sites in Serbia, Caricin grad, which attracts a lot of tourists.
Matic pointed out that the line ministry in the period 2015.2021. for tourism development projects in Leskovac, a total of 34,500,000 dinars was allocated, of which 19,500,000 dinars for the Rostilijada event.
She said that in 2021, the Ministry approved 10,000,000 dinars for the rehabilitation of the youth settlement on Lake Vlasina.
Matic added that this will provide conditions for rest, recreation and education, as well as the improvement and modernization of accommodation facilities.
According to her, that will contribute to the creation of the “general positive image of Vlasina” as a competitive destination and the creation of the “tourist product of Vlasina Lake”.
