Kemira leaves Russia entirely – Economy

In 2021, Russia accounted for about three percent of Kemira’s net sales.

Chemistry Kemira says it will exit the Russian market. The company plans to close its local offices.

In early March, Kemira announced a decision to suspend supplies to Russia and Belarus following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“Preparations for the exit have begun, but the process will take some time to continue due to the requirements of local legislation,” Kemira said in a statement.

In 2021, Russia accounted for about three percent of Kemira’s net sales. Operations in Russia focused on customers in the pulp and paper industry.

Kemira has 45 employees in Russia.

Last year, Kemira’s total turnover was approximately EUR 2.7 billion and the company had approximately 5,000 employees.
