Young Frankenstein turns 50 at the cinema. Back on the big screen on October 29th and 30th

On December 14th the film Young Frankenstein, the hilarious comedy by Mel Brooks will be 50 years old. Half a century of history for a film that over the years has never lost its appeal, indeed it has managed to seduce a transversal audience with its explosive irony. As also demonstrated by the results of a box office that every year records record takings, the fruit of an irrepressible enthusiasm that is passed down from fan to fan.

In fact, the day after its release, Young Frankenstein received critical acclaim, as the film’s power was recognized and it won prestigious nominations. It received two Oscar nominations in 1975 (Best Sound, and Nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay (Gene Wilder, Mel Brooks) and two at the Golden Globes of the same year (nomination for best actress in a musical or comedy for Cloris Leachman and nomination for best supporting actress in a film for Madeline Kahn).

Mel Brooks’ fourth and undoubtedly most successful film, included in the thirteenth place on the American Film Institute’s list of the best comedies of all time, now it’s back on the big screen too.

On October 29th and 30th, on the eve of Halloween, many Italian salt (the list will be published on nexostudios.it and pre-sales will open from September 27th) Young Frankenstein will in fact be on the big screen for the first time in 4K for an immersive experience. For those who win the ticket for the anniversary screening there is also the invitation to anticipate the Halloween costumes playing the roles of the film’s protagonists.

 

Doctor Frankenstein as the unforgettable Gene Wilder did, the assistant Igor (played by Marty Feldman), but also those of the terrible Frau Blücher (Cloris Leachman) or the candid Inga (Teri Garr). Not to mention that the most daring can try their hand at The Creature (as Peter Boyle did). Ready to blow out all together (and then put back, as the film says) the 50 candles of the fun cinematographic work.
