On Friday, one of Denmark’s biggest reality stars ever, Sidney Lee, was buried. He turned 43 years old.

After his death, it has flooded in with praise from those who knew him, and when ‘Let the Ass’ was held on Friday night – a support event in favor of the fight against prostate cancer, several of those present were ready to give their opinion on the loss of the legend.

– I knew Sidney quite well in the past. It was not like we hung out together, but when we were on two hands for e.g. parties, he was a really nice and nice person to talk to. A completely different person and person than the one you see (on TV, ed.), It sounded for example from Jeremy ‘Panda’.

‘It is a pity’
He himself was part of the first wave of reality at home when he was a participant in ‘Too delicious for love’, and even though his relationship with Sidney Lee was not the closest, they met several times.

– The person I knew him to be was that he was himself. So I think it’s a shame what happened. You have been able to see that life has gone up and down, but I do not know what happened, says ‘Panda’.

– How did you react when you heard the news?

– It hit me of course, but I was not someone who posted on Facebook and wrote ‘such and such’, now that I did not have the close contact to him.

Always supported
Michael Monetz and his wife Maria Donna became really famous in Denmark via the TV series ‘The Family from Holtewood’. It was at a time when the big stars were named Susan K, Gleager, Wolf Peter and of course Sidney Lee.

– We started it all for heck. And every time we had to hold something, Sidney came. He always supported and he stood there, explains Maria Donna, who is complemented by her husband.

– Every time they opened Tivoli, he came at three o’clock, because then he knew that people had finished eating, and then he came and had fun. It was nice. He was always at the table, says Michael Monetz.

Pull the plug
Maria Donna and Michael Monetz’s relationship with Sidney Lee therefore stretches back many years. The last time they saw him was at the Reality Awards in March this year.

– Many people tell the story that the contact just slipped out, was it also the same for you?

– Yes, that was how it was. But it also had something to do with the fact that me and Maria more or less stopped being on TV. We pulled the plug and stayed in the background, and that means that you do not see people as much, says Michael Monetz and rounds off:

– We were at the Reality Awards here in March, where he was there, and that was the last time we saw him. It’s damn sad.

Sidney Lee died on May 16 at the age of 43. The cause of death has not yet been announced.
